Spurs to move for Nolan?

Tottenham are looking to land Bolton Wanderers star Kevin Nolan to prepare for the impending exit of Michael Carrick to Manchester United.

Nolan has previously been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. It is believed Martin Jol will offer somewhere near £8 million for the talented midfielder.

Tottenham to face Sociedad

Tottenham have added another fixture to their pre-season schedule, this time against Spanish side Real Sociedad.

The home fixture is set for August 12 at 3pm.

The Spurs squad are currently in France to take on Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

Training pitch application deferred

Spurs new training ground application has been deferred.

A club spokesman said: "The Club welcomes this opportunity to provide further clarification and reassurances on these issues. An ecological survey on behalf of the Club has already been commissioned and will begin shortly.

"Thank you for your continued support in the run-up to the hearing. Enfield Council is in receipt of hundreds of letters from Enfield residents in favour of the scheme and community partnership, demonstrating strong local support for the plans.

"A revised meeting date has yet to be arranged but we will publish details as soon as they become available."

Dowining rejection not a suprise

Gareth Southgate has told Spurs that Stewart Downing is off limits, what a suprise.

Southgate said: “I’ve spoken to Stewart while he’s been away and he’s been enjoying his time with the national team.

“I want to try to help him make sure he gets more experiences like he’s had this summer.

“I’m not surprised there are clubs being linked with him. He’s a superb player.

“But I don’t want to lose him — and certainly not to one of our main rivals.”

Arsene looks to pip our Martin again

Arsene Wenger is hoping to beat Martin Jol to the signing of West Bromwich central defender Curtis Davies.

Jol has made a couple of offers for the talented defender but it is believed that Wenger will more than double our last offer of £4million to land him.

World Cup star to Spurs?

Spurs are apparently set to make an offer for South Korean World Cup striker Ahn Jung-Hwan.

Scottish club Hearts has already expressed an interest in the striker who has European experience and would offer good value for the price to attain his services.

Hwan's agent said: "I've spoken with Valdas (Hearts boss) and he said he will tell Romanov that he wants Ahn. "I told him I need an answer. I said, 'Don't wait too long or it will be too late'. "

They have to give an answer in the next couple of days because the clubs in the Premiership who want Ahn have given us a deadline of this weekend. "Valdas assures me he has a strong interest in the player but it seems the communication there is not so good."

Judas leaves Arsenal

Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has officially left Arsenal Football club.
He said: "It is with a sense of pride, achievement and the desire for a fresh challenge that I depart," he said.

Manager Arsene Wenger added: "Sol has been a giant for us but we respect his decision to move on and of course, we are very sorry to see him go."

Campbell has had a host of clubs interested in his services but will more than likely seek a move abroad.

Jol waiting for move

Tottenham Hotspur might not be signing Sunderland goalkeeper Ben Alnwick after the Black Cats put the move on hold.

Tottenham manager Martin Jol has had talks with Coventry about a move for his keeper Marton Fulop and are keen to add a new stopper to their squad before they sell him.

It is believed that new Sunderland boss Niall Quinn is the reason for the delay as he is keen to hold on to the player who has previously handed in a transfer request at the Stadium of Light.

Tottenham + Arsenal target is interested in England

France World Cup star Franck Ribery has told reporters that he would welcome a move to England to play in the Premiership.

The talented 23-year old flanker told the Sunday Mirror: 'I'd love to play for a big club in England - and nothing would be more ideal than to be with a French coach,''

''But this is not the time to speak about my future. I have the World Cup and that is bigger than anything in my life right now.''

Ribery has been linked with Tottenham and Manchester United recently but it seems likely that these latest comments might sway Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to make a bid after the World Cup.

Spurs to offer big for England star

Tottenham manager is lining up a £8 million move for talented Middlesbrough flanker Stuart Downing today.

Spurs are on the look-out for a left- sided attacking midfielder and manager Martin Jol might see the highly-rated youngster as the perfect fit for his squad.
